Members of several General Hospital fan bases,
Sonny and Kate, Jason and Elizabeth, Patrick and Robin, and Jax and
Carly, have joined forces to organize the SOS/Save Our Soap!
General Hospital Campaign. This campaign, which kicked off across
North America in June, is a joint effort by those fans to make an
appeal to ABC/Disney to help save what was once their favorite soap
opera and return it to the Flagship Soap Opera it once was.
While this campaign has been organized by these four fan bases, it's about more than just couples and pairings; it's about correcting the problems with General Hospital as a whole.
Ten Remedies for Saving General Hospital have been identified and will be the focus of the campaign:
1. Character-driven Storylines
2. Character Growth & Development
3. Historical Continuity
4. Respect for Veteran Characters
5. Emotional Balance for Characters & Storylines
6. Increased Focus on Families
7. Enduring Couples
8. Less Sleaze
9. More Romance & Humor
10. Overall Enjoyable Escape
